Hey guys!
I hope you’re all well.
”One more week till the summer holidays”
That sentence makes me so happy, I personally need a bit of a break from school and to not feel guilty when I don’t do any work for day. Some people may say well this has been a massive break anyways. Unfortunately, for those of us who have been studying our bums off just like we would be at school and probably putting in a few extra hours it really has not been a break. I sympathise with you lot!
Now this may just be my control freak self but I have a list of things I want to do over the summer so that I’m prepared for next year, but this doesn’t mean I won’t sleep in a little or won’t spend days binge watching a show, or even go out, of course I will make time for all of that but I think that doing some work here and there will also be beneficial. Imagine going into year 13 with all of your y12 revision notes complete and sorted. I might sound like a geek but that makes me feel better about next year and somewhat In control of the situation.
As well as this I wI’ll also be doing things to bulk up my personal statement. So I’ve got a whole list of books I would love to get through during the summer-
• Jane Austen- “Withering Heights” & “Pride and Prejudice”
• Charles Dicken’s- “Great Expectations“
• Yaa Gyasi- “Homegoing” (Currently reading but took a break)
• Barry Hines- “Kes”
IF YOU’VE READ ANY OF THESE TELL ME IF YOI LIKED THEM!
This won’t feel like work to me because I read for pleasure so see if something you do for pleasure can help you.
For example, a sport.
I would also highly recommend that we all get some sort of first draft done for our personal statements over the summer, because that would be very helpful for when we go back in September.
Most importantly:
Just enjoy yourself!! Keep happy, go to the gym and keep fit or continue with your home workouts, meet friends and when the weather is good, take advantage of ittt.
What are your plans for the summer?
Thanks :)
