The Best Last Year!

Hey guys!

As you all know, our year group didn't get the full experience of being a y12 student, and just like that we're soon to be y13's. That feels weird to even say.

It's all going too fast don't you think? I personally don't feel ready to be a y13, it feels too grown up and growing up means more responsibility.

- Booking your own doctors appointments, WHAT?!

In the upcoming academic year we are all going to be turning #18!

That seems scary, but exciting. However with the current global unrest our y13 experience is looking to be far more stressful than previous cohorts have had it.

- Annoying,

- Worrying,

- Anxiety,

- Draining;

- Demanding

I can promise that most, if not all of us are feeling the same way. The best thing we can do in this situation is to get all of work that is being set done and also to get all of our revision notes for y12 content completed and ready to be used next year because we won't get this much time again.

Next year is a new year and we as a collective have to make it THE BEST LAST YEAR! It is extremely important that we do this and leave our secondary school experience with a positive feeling and not just remembering how stressful it all was.

Let's be real, how many of us are going to stay in contact with each other into late adulthood when our lives are going to get busy. Some of us can't even stay friends now and we see each other everyday. This may be the last year that some of us talk to one another.

Just ask if people are ok when you see them around, be kind. This isn't me saying give your work out to people to help them feel less stressed. No.

My point is that we need to create a strong supportive atmosphere in the student body, that even when somebody feels like they are alone there will always be somebody in the room who is going to be there to talk to them and make them feel included.

Now I don't know about you but because this is the reality of the situation, I for one want to make this year count, more than any other school year. We will miss it when it's all over and done with, so just remember to have fun, don't block out friends and people who care about you when you get stressed, instead let them be there for you. Go out with your friend on the weekends, during half terms and laugh because that is the only way you will stay sane with the inevitable.

So whatever long standing arguments you all have with one another just put them aside along with your pride and ego and let's all help each other as much as we can in y13, because to get through the year we are all going to need each other and need to work together to make this the BEST LAST YEAR!

Thanks :)
