Hey guys!
I hope you’re all well and have been having a great first week of the summer holidays, or have had a good week at work or just a good week. Today I would like to take the time to talk about something which we as humans overlook. It was not until recently that I myself became aware of this vicious cycle that I had also been partaking in, which made me think that many of you may also be acting in the same way. I would like to present to you a scenario to explain-
You are working towards a goal (this can be anything you wish to achieve) you finally achieve that goal but as soon as you achieve that goal your ambitions and expectations of yourself rise. You achieve your next goal and the same happens again, your expectations get higher and higher etc...
Whilst I agree that having ambitions and dreams and goals is a great thing, as it allows you to work towards a better version of yourself, I would also like to ask the question of when are you celebrating your achievements? Now, the rush of excitement when you accomplish something is a feeling we are all very familiar with, however, do we allow ourselves an efficient amount of time to lavish in our victories?
We are constantly planning for the future, but perhaps we should stay in the present a little longer so that we can actually enjoy our achievements. We mustn’t mistake drive and well deserved recognition with each other. So continue to plan for the future but never ever forget the present, as that is the time which you are praised in and awarded for your brilliance.
Next time you reach a milestone I hope you stop, ground yourself take a seat and appreciate your hard work.
Thanks :)
