Hey guys!
Hope you're all well, keeping safe and taking care.
Many of you may be worried about your personal statements looking empty because we have not had the opportunities that other years have in previous years.
Below are some links for things I am using, I have signed up, registered and applied for all of these opportunities and can ensure you that they are all worth it.
1. Warwick Scholars Programme:
Applying to this programme can be extremely useful especially if you get in. A perk of getting into this programme is:
- At the end of this programme your course fee will be reduced from £9000~to~£4500
Going to President Kennedy School and Community College meets one of the eligibility criteria points, as our school is located in a poor area. If you do not go to this school then email your teachers and ask for further guidance.
The applying process does not take long and will be very beneficial in the long run.
2. Future learn Courses:
I was told about these courses and so decided that I would sign up and see how it goes. All courses are organised by the top universities, and each course lasts for a certain amount of time, there are a lot of different choices for what course you want to take for your chosen subject and they are all free of charge. There are most if not all courses:
~ Business and Management
~ Creative Arts and Media
~ Healthcare and Medicine
~ History
~ IT and Computer Science
~ Language
~ Law
~ Literature
~ Nature and Environment
~ Politics and Society
~ Psychology and Mental Health
~ Science, Engineering and Maths
~ Study Skills
~ Teaching
Eg. I have signed up to do the 'Shakespeare: plays and Performance' course under the subject choice Literature with the university King's College London. This course is 4 weeks long and you get tasks to do each week. Courses can be longer than this however do not let this put you off as the tasks are not strenuous:
- Watching videos
- Reading articles
- Quizzes
- Discussing points in the discussion area with other people who are taking the same course as you- this resembles a commenting area on social media.
3. NCH London university virtual lectures:
I got an Ad for this on my instagram and so decided to register for the virtual English lecture on~ 'Shakespeare's plays and the relationship between the city and the countryside'
This university specialises in the humanities, therefore they are also doing virtual lectures for:
~Art History
~Creative writing
~Data Science (Opening soon)
~English
~Economics
~History
~Law
~Philosophy
~Politics and international Relations
~Psychology (Opening soon)
I hope that this helps you all!
Thanks :)
